Time At Ranger
Having served as Ranger’s Vice President of Business Development since its inception until his retirement in 2016, Mr. Swartz is now one of our highly valued Special Advisors. Over the course of his 46 years in the offshore oil industry, Mr. Swartz has held positions as saturation diver, diving supervisor, diving superintendent, operations manager, sales manager, and vice president of worldwide diving. His subsea construction experience runs the gamut from air, mixed gas, closed circuit re-breathers, saturation diving techniques, to pipe lay. He’s worked on derrick barges, jet barges, and DP DSVs in the North Sea, Middle East, West Africa, South America, Trinidad, Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico.
Before joining our executive management team, Mr. Swartz served as Special Projects Manager for CalDive International (2008-2009) and previously served as Vice President Global Project Management for Superior Offshore (2005-2008) and Vice President of Business Development for Horizon Offshore (2002-2004).
Mr. Swartz authored manuals in emergency procedures, wet buckle repair, and operations and safe practices. In doing so, he developed standards that not only significantly impacted commercial diving operations in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea but are recognized as industry benchmarks.
In recognition of his lasting contribution to commercial diving and as a testament of his tenacious dedication to the improvement and safety of commercial diving and underwater operations, Mr. Swartz was inducted into the ADCI Diving Hall of Fame in 2015.
